- The Rupa family bought the store in 1953 complete with the Bushells sign. In 1968 Rewa Rupa sat in front of a bulldozer to stop Education Department work next door that was threatening the shop's foundations. In 2001 Rewa's son Dilip Rupa renovated the store into a "delicatessen" and the Bushells sign was replicated with the addition "Solely funded by the Rupa family". The old sign has been relocated inside the shop.
- Collection gathered together as the first cull for the Robin Morrison Exhibition, 1997.
- S12.1 written on slide. "Specials" (New Zealand source material).
