  • Private Anderson was wounded in the neck on 11 August 1915 and evacuated off Gallipoli to Egypt where he died on 25 August 1915.
  • His brother, 8/317 William Alexander Anderson, had been killed four days earlier on Rhododendron Spur.
  • Another brother, 24/340 Robert Stephen Anderson, also served in World War I
