The Auckland Museum is pleased to provide you with access to their collection databases.
Records in this part of the database are currently restricted to the primary type specimens of the New Zealand vascular plants (ferns, confers and flowering plants). Species are listed here under their currently accepted names. The number of records available will be progressively expanded.
You can search the database using scientific names from any level of the Linnaean classification hierarchy depending on how broad or narrow you want your search to be. An initial search can be refined. It's not possible to search for common names e.g., ponga, kauri, lemonwood.
If there are any particular kinds or groups of plants you would like to see records for in the future, and for comments on the database, please contact us on botany@aucklandmuseum.com. This will help us plan for future expansion and improvement.
