- Son of Thomas and Ella Edmonds; husband of Frances Edmonds, of Kaikohe
- Was born and educated at Ngawha. Was a prominent local rugby footballer, playing as a Bay of Islands representative in the same team in which his brother and father, Mr Tom Edmonds, played
- He left New Zealand in December 1942 and fought in the Tunisian battle. His death occurred on the Eighth Army front in Italy. He left a wife, Mrs R. Edmonds and three small children, including twin boys.
