Biographical Notes
  • Lawrence Knight was the son of Eric and Anita Knight of New Plymouth, Taranaki.
  • He had served operationally with 502 and 58 Squadrons, RAF, prior to being posted to the 302 Ferry Training unit at Oban, Argylleshire, part of 17 group, for training on Catalina aircraft but his number of operations is unknown, except that he had flown 545 hours.
  • He died in a shooting accident. He accidentally shot himself in the head with a revolver while on leave at Putney, London.
